![]() ![]() The next day I used my tester with the PowerCore+ and charged our phones and got a very similar result to the first time, it charged both our phones and was then completely flat delivering only 12150mAh, again considerably less than the 26800mAh claimed. After leaving the PowerCore+ plugged in with the supplied 60w PD charger for about 10 minutes it suddenly sprang to life and started to charge, I decided to test the capacity and charge speed with the tester but I was surprised to see the Anker was not charging at the 60w as expected but at 38w 19 volts and at 2A, It took a little over 2hrs to charge, a fair way faster the stated 3hrs 30mins BUT my tester showed it was full at only 13650mAh which is around half the stated capacity, I tried a few times unplugging and plugging back in with/without the tester but nope, it would take nothing more. To recharge it I plugged it into the supplied PD charger but nothing happened, I then tried various other chargers and cables, leaving them connected for a minute or so, but still absolutely nothing, I tried the supplied PD charger and cable on another PowerBank and they both worked fine. Using the tester, I ran both phones flat before charging, and it gave my wifes 4000mAh phone 3860mAh and my 5000mAh phone 3889mAh before the PowerBank was dead which is far from the 26800mAh that's claimed. I always try/test gifts before wrapping them, theres nothing worse than a faulty gift on Christmas morning, so I tried the PowerCore+, it had arrived almost completely flat, my phone got about 5% charge before the unit was dead with the one LED flashing on the unit, so I plugged the power bank into the supplied USB-C PD charger and left it, about 2hrs later I went to check on it and it was showing full which seemed very quick! So I decided to use my tester I had bought after previously buying other Power Banks and finding them to appear far from their advertised specs to charge both my wifes phone and mine. When charging 45W devices, make sure the portable charger has at least 3 LEDs illuminated, otherwise, the charging speed will be insufficient.Īfter reading all the negative reviews and thinking they are just unlucky people, and since I believed Anker was a premium brand, I bought this 26800mAh PowerCore+ and PD charger for £109 as I christmas gift for my daughter since her Surface pro is always flat and she needs it for collage, she's always moaning none of the cheaper brand Powerbanks I've bought last long enough so I needed the best money could buy and I thought that this Anker PoweCore+ 26800mAh was it, only I was soon very, very disappointed.
